Rozendal Farm comprises of 6ha of vines, 4ha of pastures, 2ha of gardens and living space and 13ha of forest and fynbos. The farm is situated in the Jonkershoek valley on the border of Stellenbosch, on the foot of the Jonkershoek mountains. The farm and cellar buildings are in excess of 150 years old.

Since 1994 Rozendal is managed biologically (bio+logical = biological) with an environmental and health conscious approach which ensures clean air and pure water. In May 2001 we switched to Biodynamic farming methods and have become members of the Biodynamic Agricultural Association.

Quality in simplicity is the thread and maturing rather than ageing are the threads which link all activities on the farm.

What is Bio Dynamic Agriculture?
This is a method of organic agriculture that aims to treat the farm as a self- sustaining living organism.  A healthy farm is one that can produce all that it needs from within itself.
The natural rhythmns of the planets and stars are observed and respected when carrying out farming activities.  Besides clean, healthy, life-giving food, and a strong contribution to an improved environment, the educational and cultural aspects of the farm have much to offer.
At Rozendal this entails a mixed farming operation including vegetables and animals (dairy cows and horses). All life is encouraged. The vineyards are not considered to be purely profit oriented grape production sites, but rather areas that, through diverse inter-row cover-cropping, minimal tillage and minimal tractor traffic become havens for a vibrant and self regulating ecosystem of  sustained healthy soil life, insect life and bird life.

Our philosophy of food and health has culminated in these unique products.
